Thanks to MizB for her weekly inspiration to many online readers, including me. Link back to ShouldbeReading and post your list for the week. There are many great books described there.
To play along, just answer the following three questions…
• What are you currently reading?
• What did you recently finish reading?
• What do you think you’ll read next?
My answers:
What are you currently reading?
I am still slogging through A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness, although I am neither a fan of books about vampires nor witches. My reserve off the book club pick, Molaka’i by Richard Brennert, is not at the library yet, but I’ve read the sample on Kindle. Seems like it will be sad but interesting historical fiction set in Hawaii.
What did you recently finish reading?
I haven’t finished anything else since A Greyhound of a Girl by Roddy Doyle, which is about a supernatural meeting of a young Irish girl and her ghostly great-grandmother. Doyle is an amazing linguist. Good stuff.
What do you think you’ll read next?
My tbr list is so long, where do I start? I want to read How to be a Woman by Caitlin Moran. She is super funny on Twitter!
I think I’ll give the Roddy Doyle a try.
You should not be disappointed if you’d read Doyle’s work before and liked it. My favorites of his are Paddy Clarke Ha Ha Ha, The Woman who Walked into Doors, and A Star Called Henry. How about you?
I really enjoyed Paddy Clarke Ha Ha Ha. 🙂
Slogging through Discovery? That doesn’t sound promising.
My WWW Wednesday is here.
This book is just so long. It might go quicker if I cared about vampires … lol.
Oh dear. Sounds like this book is quite the commitment. It might have to sit a bit longer in the “to be read” pile.
